Tag functions

From RFID Guardian

[edit] Tag functions

Tag related operations include transfer of tag ownership to another person, management of tag spoofing, tag key management and other simpler functions like creating groups of tags and assigning tags to them. These operations are grouped under the Tags item in the main menu of the application.

User input is limited to the 5-way navigation key of the device as much as possible. However, there are certain cases where the user needs to use the keypad of his device e.g. when creating a new set of tags or renaming a tag. None of the operations mentioned in here can be done offline, meaning that an active Bluetooth link to the RFID Guardian is necessary.

Tag spoofing is a primitive RFID Guardian operation that prevents readers from getting a response from certain tags. Such tags can easily be added to the list of spoofed tags and their content will be protected.

An RFID scan for tags in the vicinity of the RFID Guardian indicates which tags are in the area of the Guardian. Such a scan can be initiated from the user interface but is still under development. The list of tags in the vicinity of the Guardian will be presented to the user upon completion of the scan.

For a more detailed description of tag related operations and their implementation on the new user interface, please refer to chapter 6 of this [masters thesis].
