Auditing functions
From RFID Guardian
[edit] Auditing - Logs
Data logging is an important part of almost every computer system. The RFID Guardian monitors RFID scans and tags serving as a barometer of (unauthorized) RFID activity. RFID auditing is a prerequisite for the enforcement of RFID security policies, plus it provides the proof needed to take legal recourse against perpetrators of RFID abuse.
Data logging in our applications comes down to automatically recording events in a certain scope in order to provide an audit trail that can be used to understand the activity of the system and diagnose problems. Moreover, we have two forms of auditing: scan logging audits RFID scans and tag logging is related to tag ownership and newly appearing tags in the vicinity of the RFID Guardian.
More information on auditing - logging of information can be found in the 8th chapter [here].
