Advanced functions

From RFID Guardian

Operations that according to our judgement are more complex or more significant than others, in the sense that they require the full attention of the user or that no mistakes are allowed to be made, are grouped together under the Advanced item in the Main Menu.

Although the RFID Guardian's purpose is to protect against unauthorized reading of one's tags, it can also be used maliciously! Replay attacks where RFID queries are intercepted and retransmitted, are possible with the RFID Guardian (click http://www.cs.vu.nl/~ast/ov-chip-card/ for an example). Sniffing, spoofing and performing relay attacks are well known RFID threats, some of which can be performed by the RFID Guardian. Such operations are still under development and can be found under the Security item.

We are currently working on the implementation of other operations, that we put under the Administration item. Such operations include:

- loading new programs
- reflashing the EEPROM of the RFID Guardian
- backup files
- synchronization
